What is ADSL?
ADSL is a permanent, high-speed internet connection on a standard Telstra®
analogue phone line and ADSL has been launched specifically to supply this
service to residential users.
In order to use ADSL, Telstra® need to enable your
analogue line at the telephone exchange and then a
ADSL modem and filter needs to be install by the
customer.
This ADSL service is then connected to your computer(s).
ADSL adds an 'always on', permanent high-speed internet connection to your
normal telephone line which can be shared throughout an office or home.
You do not lose your existing telephone line while you are using ADSL to
access the internet and you can use ADSL while you make telephone calls or
send faxes.
